What can I say about Sarah and Mike?!?!? I do not know where to start except to say that these two and their friends are a RIOT to hang out with! The words that come to mind when I think about their wedding are words like: celebration, jubilee, soiree…..PARTY! It is no surprise to me that these two even met at a party!
Sarah chose to get ready at her childhood home in Rocky Hill. I can’t imagine how it must feel for a parent to watch their daughter put on a wedding dress in the room where they once tucked them in nightly. I tried to capture a little of that in the shot of Sarah looking in the mirror behind the door with her name hangs to “define” her space….. my girls (ages 3 and 6) have signs very similar hanging on their bedroom doors. Almost makes me shudder about how quickly children grow up… Well, onward….
Terri Krisavage of TK Florals had delivered stunning flowers to the house where we met the beaming bride. Her make-up was flawless thanks to the very talented Larissa Lake. We nabbed some quick shots at the house and then headed to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, also in Rocky Hill, for the ceremony.
Well, there is another word that comes to mind when I recall this day…. oh yes…. “Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”
I have to thank this tremendously fun bridal party that (MAYBE with the help of a little “liquid warmth”) were total SPORTS about the freezing cold weather for the photos after the ceremony. We loaded up on the party bus and headed down to a park very near their reception venue, Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station in Haddam. HOLY COLD!!!!! These fearless and faithful friends even trekked away from the ordinary and up to the train tracks for some fun images. THANK YOU TEAM SARAH AND MIKE! We also waited for the sun to go down to grab just a couple fun night shots of the bride and groom with The Goodspeed Opera house in the background.
Then, we unloaded the party from the party bus and into the party. And, with DJ Sam of Atmosphere Productions, that is just what he delivered. Sam also provided a photo booth with props….. and, as you can see…. when you combine a photo booth with props and a good party, some sailor is always going to end up dancing with a rabbit! Happens every time! 🙂
Sarah and Mike, may the party live on! Thanks for asking us to be a part of it!
And, no party is complete without desert. Here is another cake from one of our favorites, Miss Kim at Kim’s Cottage Confections out of Durham…..
